The beautiful and macabre paintings of Nina Wright are on display at Vamp record store in downtown Oakland at 331 19th Street. Canvases stretched to form pieces of a female body bring to life the original style of Nina’s brush through color, shape, space, and layers of expression.
Special Delivery was a massive warehouse take over in Portland that featured prolific Bay Area graffiti artists like Swampy, Feral Child, GATS, Bella Ciao, Just Becauz, Dead Eyes, Attica, Pink Eyes, Political Gridlock, ATWA, Old Crow, Doodles, Coyote, Logo, GoreB, Nart, Cuss, Nina and more.
The show was held at the Railyard in Portland, OR July 2011.
Both Nina and Cuss will be participating in the Special Delivery street art festival Endless Canvas is throwing in Portland Oregon July 1st-4th. More info at Portland.EndlessCanvas.com
We don’t usually take buff photos, but I walked by this wall and took a photo of the most beautiful Nina painting I’ve seen and resisted stealing it with all my might (gotta respect that it’s there for everyone to see). I then grabbed a cup of coffee and as I was leaving the Oakland Graffiti removal truck was pulling up to grab a cup of coffee as well. I walked back past the wall and it was wet with paint. I wish I would have come up on him in the act and saved it. I guess I posted this photo out of frustration.
